Family Migration
Family Visa:
People who have a specified familial relationship with with an Australian citizen, permanent resident or ENZ citizen come under the Family Stream Visas.

There is no automatic 'right' for family members of Australians to migrate to Australia.  Like all visa applicants, the eligibility of family members to travel to, enter or remain in Australia, whether temporarily or permanently, is based on complex eligibility criteria.

Family members who do not meet the eligibility criteria for a visa in the Family Stream should explore their options under other streams.

For Children:
1. Child (subclass 101 and 802): This visa is for adopted, biological and in limited circumstances, step-child of an Australian citizen, 'holder of a permanent resident visa' or ENZ citizen.

2. Orphan Relative (subclass 837 and 117): This visa is for orphaned relatives of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or ENZ citizen, where the applicant is aged under 18 years and their parents are deceased, permanently incapacitated or of unknown whereabouts.

3. Adoption (subclass 102): This visa is for adopted child of an Australian citizen, 'holder of a permanent resident' or ENZ citizen.  This visa is only available to applicants who are outside Australia at the time they apply.

Adopted children who are inside Australia at the time of application should explore their eligibility for a Child subclass 802 Visa or Australian citizenship.

For Parents:
1. Parent (subclass 103): This visa is for parent(s) of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or ENZ citizen.

2. Aged Parent (subclass 804): This visa is for aged parent(s) of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or ENZ citizen.
